The heavy cotton work fabric has washed down from dark navy to grey-blue, with pronounced whiskering across the thighs and pale fading over the knees. The build is standard Carhartt carpenter: brass-tone rivets and button, a zip fly, a hammer loop and slim utility pocket on the right leg, and reinforced double-front panels stitched over the knees. Both panels have split along their top seam to show the lighter layer underneath, there are smaller openings at the left shin and near the right hem, and the hems themselves have frayed through.
