Carhartt Double Knee Distressed Pants Khaki

This is the Carhartt Double Knee Distressed Pant in khaki, a carpenter-cut work pant carrying heavy distressing across the knees, thighs and hems. It's for anyone building a workwear-leaning wardrobe who wants the thrashed, faded look already there instead of hunting it down in thrift bins.

Carhartt builds these in cotton duck canvas, the stiff tightly woven cotton the brand is known for, which breaks in and softens the more it gets worn. The construction is pure jobsite: reinforced double-front knee panels, a hammer loop, utility pockets along the side seams, deep front slash pockets, roomy back patch pockets and the Carhartt square label stitched to the back pocket. The distressing runs across both knees and thighs with shredded canvas, a large blown-out section on one upper leg, frayed pocket edges and unravelling hems. The leg is loose and straight, so it stacks over boots or sits wide over sneakers.

What separates it from the lighter twill work pants it sits next to is the duck canvas itself, which holds structure and wears in with texture rather than just thinning out, plus the double-front panels most work trousers skip. Buy it if you want workwear that reads lived-in from the first time you put it on.
